10 Habits of Highly Successful Bloggers

In one way, Blogging is an art and just like the artists not every blogger can be a great one, that’s the reality .But having said that I should also want to add that being great and being successful are 2 different things. For that sake , If you want to be successful in any line of business, all you have to do is closely follow the footsteps of those individuals who already made it to the top. I have done that in terms of blogging and realized that there are indeed certain thumb-rules which all of the successful bloggers follow, which has taken them to the place where they are now.

10 Habits of Highly Successful Bloggers

So here are those tried and tested rules of  successful blogging  following which will make sure that you will reach your goals , what ever it may be , that you want to achieve through blogging in the first place.

Have a theme

Successful bloggers always have a definite theme , This helps attract readers. As you can see I chose Blogging , Internet  and Web Design as my theme over here in FFB. You never ever gonna see  me writing gossips about celebrities over here.

Be Consistent

You should set the frequency at which You produce new content. If you have a lot of people reading your blog, they expect to see new material on an ongoing basis. So it make sense for you to set the expectation that your blog will have new content only in every ‘N‘ number of day.The ‘N‘ can be anything as per your comfort for eg: If you have time  only to update your blog twice in a week just stick to that. There is no point in you adding 10 articles on one fine day and keeping quiet for the next few months.

Respond to Comments

Blogging is a two-way street. You must respond to the comments and questions you will get from your fellow readers. The larger the blog following, the more comments you will get and you should make it a point that you gonna reply to each of that .

Manage Time

Blogging takes time and if you have to publish something that is really noteworthy , then you obviously will have to spend a good amount of time researching , drafting and finalizing . For me, it takes about 1 to 2 hrs ( and sometimes more) every time I publish something.

Be Legal

Of course this is obvious but I mean more than just being legal — be careful of giving away information and tips that could be considered unethical..Always remember that anything you express and captures in your blog adds on to the brand and online reputation you are trying to build.

Keep an Article Planner

This is a reiterated item when ever I write a few tips about blogging. Personally, I believe every blogger who wants to be successful shall create and keep an article planner. This resource helps you in fining something to write about at times when you are confused of what to write about next. It also helps you  in writing posts around a topic in a sequence which will help the readers get a holistic picture of  that.

Link to Other Websites Generously

Successful bloggers makes it a point to link to as many good sources of information as possible in there articles. Now don’t worry too much about the SEO aspects and feel free to link to any blog or article or website that will add value to  the content you are writing .

Be Passionate

Successful bloggers Write about things which they are sincerely interested in. Follow it blindly .. that will make sure that your passion shows up in your writing. Only start blogging if you like to write and don’t jump in to this bandwagon just thinking that you can make some easy money.

Be Genuine

Being genuine has too many advantages.First of all that it will make sure that your blog will have a unique brand which stands out , and note that that brand is you and nothing else.People likes to trust and  be around genuine individuals. So be genuine if you are really looking forward to be a successful blogger.

Be patient

Don’t expect 100,000 visitors to your blog in the first month. Readership  and visitors grows over time. The time you take to build your brand and long lasting relationships with your readers online is as much as equal to that you may take if you are in an offline business.

And now that I have written this article – Are you thinking that I’m successful? No way..For me,  success is like a never ending race with a lot of pit stops (goals) along the way…What do you think? How do you define success ..especially in terms of blogging?

  1. Great article. Using Google Calendar is a great tool for the article planner. I always recommend for those new to blogging, to set 2 weeks at a time so they won’t feel overwhelmed. Thanks for the information.
